Project Description:Fiber to the Premise (FTTP for new developments) and Fiber to the Node (FTTN for targeted overbuilds) networks (jointly called FTTx) facilitates the evolution of our Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) to an IP-based provider that delivers superior voice, video, and internet applications. By deploying the FTTx network within the LEC, the client’s core offering will evolve from traditional voice to a full suite of products (i.e., triple play = voice, video and data) by 2007. Additional products such as video on demand and video teleconferencing may be enabled on the FTTx network at lower incremental costs. This infrastructure, with robust bandwidth and the ability to more easily deploy new services as market demands are revealed, lays the foundation by which the company will gain differentiation from competitors. To enable this new technology a robust, efficient, timely, and accurate suite of new set of mechanized Operational System Support (OSS) and Business System Support (BSS) will be required that will result in operational savings.
Job Description:The candidate would have to provide project management throughout the lifecycle of program releases for OMS (Ordering) for Lightspeed, by directing the efforts of project team(s) using dotted-line authority to deliver a completed product and/or service. This candidate will have full accountability for managing high complexity releases within a program. The expectations for this candidate will include estimating, scheduling, coordinating, assigning resources, ensuring that project funding is secured, and assisting in recommending business solutions/alternatives for projects, assessing, and manage program risks, issues, jeopardies, escalations and problem resolutions according to the IT Express process. In addition, will be expected to manage project scope, project budgeting and cost reporting, and ensuring the completion of the release while meeting quality, schedule and cost objectives using the organization’s standard processes. The PM will act as project liaison between ITS partners, client organizations and ITS leadership.
